Format presentations Academy Conference
Since the vast majority of the scientific presentations concerns preliminary results of research, the Academy uses a special format for this kind of presentations. The reason for this special format is to enable a real scientific discussion based on your clear presented scientific results and conclusions. All presentations mentioned below, last 10 minutes followed by 5 minutes of discussion. Our format urges presenters to confine the content of their talk to the most important messages. The session chairman will be very strict with respect to this 10 minutes’ time format during the Academy Conference.
In case you are presenting preliminary results of your research, we advise you to use the next format:
- No extensive historical overviews of the topic of your research.
- Define the research problem which resulted in your scientific project.
- Define which research question(s) related to the problem you wanted to answer with your scientific project.
- Overview of the section Material and Methods of your scientific project.
- Overview of most important of your section Results.
- Most important Conclusions of your scientific project.
In case you have a presentation about a case report, we advise you to use the next format.
- Short introduction about the reason to present this case-report.
- Overview clinical findings of the patient(s) and results of complementary diagnostics.
- What is known in literature about your specific findings.
- Conclusions.
- Most important take home message(s).
In case you have a presentation about a specific topic related to M/M Medicine, we advise you to use the next format.
- Short introduction about the reason to present this (or aspects of) the topic related to M/M Medicine.
- Controversies in literature about the presented topic.
- Final Conclusions.
- Most important take home message(s).
